From The Metro:
Police are investigating after faces of pupils and teachers were superimposed on to internet porn photos.
An 18-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the images of staff and pupils from Cowes High School on the Isle of Wight. Headteacher David Snashall said: "The school continues to work with police and provide appropriate support to those people affected by this incident."
A Hampshire police spokesman confirmed the teenager was arrested on suspicion of possessing and publishing pseudo-indecent photographs.

Because there's just not enough actual real offences to deal with, I suppose...
"pseudo-indecent" photographs?
Eh?
You might think that at least some of the male teachers would have been grateful.
I wonder what offence will be made up to cover this? Probably some breach of copyright bollox rather than some edict against pornography.
Won't someone please think of the children!?
Shouldn't that be indecent pseudo-photographs?

I think that's what they're afraid of...
Mark,
Maybe the police are right on this one?

I'm with the authorities on this one. Looking at internet photos is normally harmless but in this case it is not a victimless crime & clearly was humiliating.
If the victims are upset, let them sue the perpetrator for defamation. It's a civil not a criminal matter.
World's worst reporting, which I guess isn't too surprising coming from the Metro.
The boy will have been charged with making indecent pseudophotographs of children, which has been an offence since approximately forever, although the cut-off age defining 'child' was raised from 16 to 18 more recently.
If the facts are as reported, he's indeed guilty of that offence under the law, assuming some of the pupils are aged 17 or below.
Yes, it's a bloody ridiculous law. No, it's not going to be repealed by anyone ever, because of the 'ooooooh, you're defending the Evil Paedos' factor.
JB, wot? An offence under which Act exactly, or is it a common law offence? What if you splice the face of a young child onto a naked adult?
The Protection of Children Act 1978. And yes, that's technically illegal,
...albeit ridiculous.
(the offence was created in the PCA 1978, and the age limit was raised from under 16 to under 18 in the Sexual Offences Act 2003)
