From The Metro:
Police are looking for a New Zealand couple who disappeared after a bank mistakenly put $10 million into their account.
The couple, who ran a gas station in the northern city of Rotorua, applied to Westpac Bank for a NZ$10,000 ($6,000) overdraft and had 1,000 times that amount paid into their account. The two then withdrew some of the money and disappeared, Detective Senior Sgt. David Harvey said.
Harvey said Interpol has been contacted for help, suggesting authorities believe they may have fled abroad with the cash...

i wonder how much they managed to withdraw? No branch would authorise more than #100k i imagine. I dont think i would risk going on the run for that little?
You cant withdraw more than 1500 on each card in New Zealand.
They wont let you in one 24 hour period
They must have written a cheque for cash Its the only way
There is no other way of withdrawing that amount of cash in New Zealand
HNL, that isn't much of a dream is it? "I dreamed the bank overpaid me £10 million but I decided not to touch it because I could only withdrawn £1,500" :(
About a decade ago a famous City firm wrote to my wife to assure her that she had £150k in "her" account, one that actually belonged to a near namesake. Then they wrote again, suggesting that she change her password, helpfully reminding her of her old one. We were fleetingly tempted. Mainly we learned that those highly paid "best and brightest" of the financial world were ninnies. Everyone seems to agree now.
But its true I couldnt on my new zealand eftpos card take out more than 1500 dollars a day by any method It was damn near impossible I even phoned the bank and they said computer says no.
You could use the NZ$10 Million to create legit money for yourself, just take it out and go to a casino and use the 'doubling the stake' method to ensure you win something.
Let's say ythey played roulette with 50:50 odds and put $1000 on black, then $2000 if you don't win, then $4000 etc. They'd almost guarantee themselves $1000.
Of course not, because that would make us hypocrites when we criticise the MPs.
