OK - the Tories have made some very modest proposals for reforming the way in which primary schools are run.
Good, bad or indifferent, it would be interesting to know what the proposals are, seeing as of how the Tories are almost certainly going to win the next General Election. But, instead of outlining the Tories' proposals and then allowing the present government or teaching unions to respond (in the interests of 'balance'), we get this.
Elevate their cause?

Funnily enough, I have just ranted about this very same BBC "article" to my wife (an academy teacher in the most deprived part of Bradford)...
She agreed that Beverley Hughes should be hung from the nearest lamp post, but could she please "do" the Union spokes"persons"...
It's the whole bloody nature of how the BBC puts anyone with a privatising/market view on the defensive. They NEVER ask a statist to justify their position, to explain their statistics. Look at the smoking ban in pubs - did anyone ever hear someone at the beeb asking one of those bastards at ASH what they thought gave them the right to intervene over someone's personal right to smoke in a pub? Of course they didn't.
Anyone want to save £3.4 billion? The annual licence fee income.
Of course the downside is no more Robin Hood.
Anon 19.31 - please stand in line after Mrs Lola. She observed that this is all about union power and nothing to do with education.
It is biased, but cleverly so. However, if the NUT is agin anything, that thing is probably a good one.
Is it me, or has anyone else noticed the behind-microphone huffing, tutting and general bad attitude towards Opposition MP's on Radio 4's Today programme? Sarah Montague is the worst.
Just haven't heard it when interviewing Liebour MP's...
