Anon, that isn't in fact a snowman/woman, it's a small topiary thingy (like the one to its right) covered in snow. What appears to be the snowman's/woman's head is in fact another spherical topiary thingy a few feet behind it. If you click to enlarge you'll see what I mean.; 2 February 2009 at 15:45

Not sure if the schools are shut here, or it's just that no-one wants to risk going in, but there's several very large snowmen in various states of construction out my front window.
