I don't know how representative the views of the readers of this and Alice's 'blogs are, but that seems like an overwhelming majority in favour of privatising it or abolishing it (I fail to see a big difference between the two).

I would have expected a larger vote for "privatising" it.
I feel it's time it went commercial and then we'd all be free of the high cost of a TV licence and would no longer give a flying f**k about how much Jonathan Ross got paid!

If we abolish it, we would have an army of lefties running around causing trouble.
If we privatize it, then in the main, they would be occupied running round trying to persuade people to subscribe to the 'service'. It would be amusing for the rest of us to see lefties get 'market religion'.
