NB - this is not my most recent post. I set the date so that it stays on top for the time being
I have been using the one from Tips For New Bloggers for ages, but it stopped working a couple of days ago. I have spent a couple of hours trying to replacing it with the Haloscan one (like Snafu and Pommygranate), but I can't get that to work either.
UPDATE: thanks for the suggestions, I have tried them all and I think it is the comment feed itself that is broken, not the widget - i.e. this:
feed://markwadsworth.blogspot.com/feeds/comments/default
only shows comments up to 3rd December.

The widget bubble bursts.
It might be a step to far, but you could try Disqus which replaces the entire comments engine.
Unfortunately, I'm on the old blogger.
JB, that sounds a bit va banque and might go horribly wrong.
JH, it's stopped working because the comment feed RSS thingy has stopped working. I can't see a Recent Comments widget on your 'blog.
Mark, apologies but I can't remember how I sorted the recent comments thing out! I vaguely recall following a link Neil Harding had in his comments once.
Thank you Mark Its nice to be back
You can blame the GMC for it
Tell me - is it mended by now?
Anyway, Merry Christmas, old son.
JH, I'm afraid not, thanks anyway.

Try this one, it may work
Its working now
I redid from the |Tips from new bloggers page just now
test
It works for me
Go back to basics and follow the steps as he suggests
and run with it
I initially just copy pasted his
and got his last five comments and then realised I had to put my web address in
You're not putting in the feed address by mistake are you?
Your rss feed might be buggered too. According to my blogger links list, which basically receives a feed from the blogs I follow, your site hasn't been updated for three weeks.
My blog is also undergoing problems so it might be my problem though.
Oh G*d, it just gets worse. A bit of tinkering later, and now the link to my comments feed is defunct as well.
Crikey thank the lord my feed isnt buggered
Did you change the template by any chance 3 weeks ago?
Chances are that you may have disturbed something
Re boot up your old template which I assume you saved first before tinkering with it
HNL, er, that whole 'saving before you tinker concept' ...
So you are the architect of your own doom?
yup
very nice blog thank you :)
