A fine bit of pedantry over at The Metro.
Although John Humphreys doesn't seem to get the point of 'rice with chips'. Firstly it's delicious, secondly it means gay or bisexual, according to Roger's Profanisaurus.

I quite enjoy Radio 5's football commentaries. As you might know they have one or two commentators at a game together with a distinguished former player to give some technical analysis.
A few years a very good recently retired player who shall remain nameless (it was Peter Beardsley) was tried. He started every single "sentence" (I use the words very loosely indeed) with "To be fair ..."
He only lasted a couple of games.
