I wonder whether the BNP will offer to go halves on the cost?

they don't need to, the taxpaer picks up the cost. See "burning our money" today.
So when the current crop of ethnic mnority bobbies get to retirement the Black Police Association will be redundant.
If they want to police, why not go to Africa, they'll be amongst their own and the whole place is one great big crime rash so no shortage of promotion chances there.
