I used to think highly of my local supermarket* for using the word fewer instead of the word less, but as I stared at the sign today**, something started nagging me ... then I remembered this post over at Snafu.
Bugger!
* I wouldn't recommend them on the basis quality or value for money; their short opening hours; or indeed their miserable failure to sell tobacco in half-ounce packs. Technically, you can't buy half-ounce packs any more, they're 12.5 grammes nowadays, that's about 44% of an ounce, but hey.
** To be fair, I was taking advantage of their "Eight cans of Foster's for £6" offer, so they're not all bad. And 500ml cans at that!
