British workers getting poorer (2)

As mentioned a while ago, average wage increases (4%) are slightly less than the increase in the RPI (4.3%), according to yesterday's FT.

In the mid-1970s I could run a car, afford to live comfortably, have a couple of pints every night, smoke, have a decent night out, and could move from town to town knowing I could easily get a flat and a job quickly - and all on an average wage.
Try doing that now.
The increased cost of living is astronomical today.
I call it serfdom.
