Mark - there is more than the faintest whiff of Little Englander about UKIP.
Is this fair or are they victims of a media smear campaign?
One of UKIP's slogans is "Love Europe, hate the EU".
So yes they are very much victims of media smear. Calling us "The BNP in blazers" is another favourite, despite UKIP are studiously non-racist.
The term "lttle Englander" is in itseLf pure abuse, how come Scots Nationalists aren't called "Little Scotlanders"?
And so on.
The LDP looks like UKIPs sister party from what i have read. Would do us well to start building links.
In response to pommygranate, UKIP are not little englanders, BNP in blazers or anything else of similar ilk. We are a libertarian party, who believe in equality before the law regardless of race or religion. We believe cultural nationalims (i.e. a common culture) as opposed to the BNP's ethnic nationalism (one ethnicity).
Vindico, thanks, seconded.
I will find out more about UKIP. It is clear we must ensure we market ourselves cleverly to avoid the 'Little Australianer' tag.
Mark - did you see field's post at my blog? Would you be interested in occasionally writing articles on my blog? A post on what the UKIP is all about would be a really interesting start. thanks
PG, sure, thanks.
UKIP are working on a whole raft of policies to come out this Autumn. That'll give me more to approve of (or indeed criticize).
