There was once a chief of a native American tribe, who had three squaws. Squaw number one was the chief's favourite and slept on a buffalo hide, which was thick and warm. Squaw number two slept on a deerskin hide, which was not as luxurious as the buffalo hide, but was still comfortable. Squaw number three had to sleep on the hide of a hippopotamus, obtained by the chief, from an African trader. All three squaws became pregnant and squaw number one gave birth to a boy, as did squaw number two. Squaw number three gave birth to twin boys, which showed that the sons of the squaw on the hippopotamus was equal to the sons of the squaws on the other two hides.
I'll get my coat.

I didn't realise Pythagoras was thought to be so socially conservative.
