Satire copies satire

VIZ, September 2014, spoof advert for an 'off-road' vehicle with the slogan "Primary school halfway up a fucking mountain? No problem."

Newsthump, February 2018, spoof article titled "Range Rover launch new 4×4 for people whose local Waitrose is halfway up a mountain".

How many people live halfway up a mountain?

JH, depends what you consider to be a mountain. I live on a one-in-twenty gradient slope and half the people on my road seem to need a Range Rover or similar tomfoolery to get to the Waitrose at the bottom.

Good find Mark. I haven't read Viz since student days. Looking at the two versions of the joke, nice to see that Viz was still the rudest IMO.

JH, who needs to live half way up a mountain when there are city streets with gradients steeper than 1 in 4?
