But since you’re already here, you might as well know that you need to fully dry the bathtub before attempting to re-caulk it.

That's nonsense.

You should always caulk with a full bathtub so that when you empty the water out the tub lifts and compresses the sealant.

RT, to be fair, it said "fully dry" not "fully empty", clearly the bit you are caulking should be dry. But fair point nonetheless.

If you use a water-based sealant, which most of them are, these days, it doesn't matter if the surfaces to be sealed are slightly damp.
