I pointed out nine years ago that those eighties pop stars who appeared in the Do They Know It's Christmas video were all miraculously still alive.
Sadly, the magical protection it bestowed appears to have expired, bang on cue at Xmas 2016,with Rick Parfitt and George Michael dying over the past two days.

Also....
Bowie died earlier this year - I know he wasn't on the video but he did introduce it.
S, explain? He's not at the start of the normal promo video, or is he? The ones on YouTube start with a newspaper front page and Bob G walking down the road, then straight into Paul Jones.

The original transmission of the DTKIC video on the Beeb (or was it CH4) had an intro by The Thin White Duke if I remember.
Plus according to Wikipedia he was supposed to sing the first line.
i note that, in response 9 years ago, our good old friend Newmania cited Rick Parfitt back then!
It may be in bad taste but I would have swapped Rick Parfit and George Michael for Geldorf or St Bonio.
S, either way, the magical protection has definitely worn off.
ND, yes, Parfitt (heart attack) and Michael (car accidents) would be the most obvious candidates to be first to go. But well done Newmania for guessing the very first one.
P, in terms of annoyingness, so would most people.
