The bastard!

JH, up an honest, in your face full tone. It's the sneaky semi-tine gear changes that are really sickening, they think they can get away with it.

Is a "gear change" acknowledgement that a song has is running out of puff and will prematurely grind to a halt unless its re-energised with a key change?

Has there ever been more than one gear change in a song? Surely the sign of something truly dreadful.

Yes.

Occasionally. This is referred to as a Christian Gear Change as it used is in gospel music to symbolise climbing higher and higher to heaven.

Devout Christians Eternal did three semi tone gear changes in Wanna be the only one. Great song despite that.
