Just for us...

The first two or sometimes three or more across clues in the DT quick crossword are always a pun.  And this puzzle uses synonyms only; it's not cryptic.  Today's are:

1. Correct (6)
4. Nipple (3)
9. Cut. (3)

And the answer is....?

Is that three clues for three answers, and can you tell us how many letters each/the answer is?

Oops. Forgot to give the number of letter. Now amended. Yes, it's three clues for the first three across answers.

"And the answer is....?"

The 42 of economics?

http://www.crosswordpuzzle-solver.com/2016/08/11/telegraph-quick-august-10-2016-crossword-answer/ would suggest

1) 'Proper' for the first,
2) 'Teat' for the second, but that's 4 letters, not 3 as you indicate, and
3) there's no 'Cut' clue in the list - did you mean 'Chop' for which there is a 3 letter answer of 'Axe'

So:

Proper
Teat
Axe

So I'm presuming you were aiming for

"Property Tax"

PJH, you got the answer but you couldn't come up with 'tit' instead of 'teat'?

PJH 10/10 You get the coconut - well you would have done if you hadn't cheated and looked up the answer...

TW said...

PJH would not have had to cheat if you had transcribed the clues correctly.

Come now TW - no need to be truculent.

One of them was correct...

;)

PJH. The online version sometimes varies from the print version. I transcribed the print version. (I think - I've binned it now)

TW said...

Sure, we believe you.

TW, I got it without looking anything up, despite the "wrongly transcribed clue", so no.

TW. No. Really. That is known and true. Big Dave comments upon it on occasion.
