Vote for me!

If you live in Buckhurst Hill West ward, you can vote for me in the locals. I did.
----------------------------
From City AM (print edition):

"Polish prince" John Zylinski is an outsider with odds of 100/1 to win today's [London Mayor] election, but he's already planning to run in 2020 and tells us he's forming his own political party.

The property developer is critical of Sadiq Khan's proposed rent controls, but last night he let slip he has an ulterior motive for going into politics.

"It's every developer's dream to become mayor. You can grant your own planning permission."

Too honest for his own good, the rent seeking twat.

I'm surprised this topic doesn't get more focus in the media. Planning permission has to be the area with the most opportunity for corrupt practice after all...

L, he gave the game away though.

SL, yup.

TBH, totally corrupt, even if done with the best intentions.

You are showing your frustration...

At least he's more honest than the alternatives. You should praise him, much like Mr. Trump, who's also a rent seeking twat, but at least he's better than the rest for calling out the systemic corruption of the people(which is more than you do) - who keep electing corrupt leaders like him - proving democracy is not inherently a good thing.

And so it goes...

"The Economist" magazine has reported many interesting little facts and two that stuck in my mind are:

* 40% of England's local councillors are estate agents. "The Economist" wrote sarcastically that the dedication of that category to public service is amazing.

* 60% of England's conservative club chairmen are the owners of the local mortgage/insurance/... shop. This apparently means that widespread cases of mortgage/insurance/... fraud cannot be prosecuted because it would like a persecution of conservative politicians. Thus the invention of the term "mis-selling".
