Pretty Girl, Not Too Bright

From the Guardian

Emily Ratajkowski, the model and actor who became famous after starring in the video for Robin Thicke and Pharrell Williams’s controversial hit Blurred Lines in 2013, has called the video the “bane of my existence”.

In an interview with InStyle magazine the model, who has since won roles in Gone Girl and EDM flick We Are Your Friends, said whenever “anyone comes up to me about Blurred Lines, I’m like, ‘Are we seriously talking about a video from three years ago?’”

Not too bright, perhaps, but definitely too thin.

She may not be 'too bright', but I am not sure that really matters....

B She's 'plumped up' a bit recently - I am told...

(Side point. I have four, to me beautiful, daughters. It kind of changes your perspective on glamour models when you ask yourself how their Dad's might be feeling about all the flaunting and posturing).

Not having any daughters, I tend to be more concerned about how the models themselves are feeling about it, i.e. doing it because they have to or doing it because they are happy to.

Hang on a sec. There's a measure of posturing here.

I imagine she is asked about the video frequently and always with the core narrative that the video is sexist and promotes rape culture. Far easier to portray herself as a victim too, rather than be honest and say the video has made her career.
