Land Reform in Scotland.

Could this be why the Tories are so keen on the Union?

The grass looked ok to me in that pic. What do they want to reform?

It's about the only plausible explanation we have left.

Yay! Go Scotland! Too bad they screwed up on the currency question though.
JH, it says:
"If you have an idea or would like to get involved in the project in any other way please contact the collective at editors@postmag.net"

So loads of Glaswegians are itching to go hiking and build holiday homes in the wilds of Northern Scotland, and English aristocrats are keeping them at bay? I doubt it.

The Tories would only be too happy for London and the SE to detach itself from the rest of the UK/EU.

They'd get to keep all the rents in perpetuity, no matter what.

And the rest of the UK are so stupid they think this is a great idea too.

If they introduce land reform perhaps it will catch on in the rest of UK as the arguments against it are shown to be BS.

I'd like to see what they do for water when those of us that get it all decide that we'd rather keep it than have hosepipe bans.

Seriously, though, I doubt London is much of a net contributor to the UK if at all. Add up all the jobs that exist doing up opera houses, at Whitehall, and so forth. The London & South East government would have a lot less money for that. There's no way the people in Mercia would be paying for London's opera house. They'd build their own, probably in Worcester or somewhere.

@TS

In fact it's pretty easy to calculate that London and the SE are a net burden to the tune of around £100bn per year on the rest of the UK.
