TS, you're the expert, but don't these studios talk to each other about the timing of film releases? Why release two different films with similar titles at the same time?

Studios are generally cautious about bumping up against big hit films in the same genre (so, no-one's going to want to release in the same week as Mockingjay 2), not across genres.
