McDonalds sold burgers 'on industrial scale' say MPs

From the BBC:

Burger restaurant McDonalds has been accused of selling burgers "on an industrial scale", in a report by MPs.

It is said to have helped hundreds of people to eat a burger by setting up restaurants across the country.

Earlier this week the Archbishop of Canterbury said people should stop eating McDonalds.

McDonalds said it disagreed with the Public Accounts Committee report but added that some people get peckish.

The report was based on an evidence session held in December, at which McDonalds gave evidence.

"We believe that McDonalds activities represent nothing short of the selling of burgers on an industrial scale," said Margaret Hodge, chairwoman of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC).

She said McDonalds had sold millions of burgers to people who wanted to eat.

I think it's time we named and shamed all these disgraceful people who think they can get away with satisfying consumer demand. Will nobody think of the children?
