Carlito's Way, Way Back

From Wiki and Wiki:

In 1975, after serving 5 years of a 30-year prison sentence, Carlito Brigante (Al Pacino) is freed on a legal technicality and reluctantly goes on summer vacation to a beach house in a small seaside town in Cape Cod with his mother Pam, her boyfriend Trent and his close friend and lawyer, Dave Kleinfeld (Sean Penn).

Carlito vows to be through with criminal activities but Trent exhibits behavior towards him that borders on emotional abuse by often making comments and gestures that are belittling and rude towards him.

Carlito discovers a pink, sparkly bike in the garage of the beach house and accompanies his young cousin Guajiro (John Ortiz) to a drug deal at a bar. Guajiro is betrayed and killed and Carlito is forced to shoot his way out.

He takes Guajiro's $30,000 from the botched deal and uses it to buy into the local water park, Water Wizz, owned by a gambling addict named Saso (Jorge Porcel).

Saso takes Carlito under his wing, shows him around the park and introduces to the park's colourful, rag-tag group of ambitious, albeit obnoxious, young gangsters from the Bronx: Caitlyn, Lewis, Roddy and Benny Blanco (John Leguizamo).

Several kids at the water park speak reverently of a legendary "pass" at Carlito’s former girlfriend Gail (Penelope Ann Miller), a ballet dancer who moonlights as a stripper, in the tube slide, wondering how it could have been done.

As co-owner, Carlito views the water park as a place to escape from his unhappy life back at the beach house. He is continually abandoned by his mom, Lalin (Viggo Mortensen), now confined to a wheelchair, who indulges in drinking, staying out at night, and smoking pot with other adult vacationers.
