"Spanish fresco restoration botched by amateur"

The story is hilarious enough but the result surpasses all expectations:

It was funny when Mr Bean did it. It's downright side-splitting when it happens in real life!

Hilarious. I like this bit:-

"The fresco is not thought to be very valuable, but has a high sentimental value for local people."

Not now it doesn't.

FT, I doubt she'd get an A* for that, not even in England.

D, true, that was an awesome film.

AKH, don't be so sure. It might be a blessing in disguise - would tourists visit Pisa if their tower were not leaning? Would anybody have heard of Boscastle before the flood (which now has a thriving visitor centre celebrating the same)? If I were in the area, I wouldn't be able to resist popping in to see the world's crappiest fresco.

"Bean" is indeed an amazing film, if only for the subtext that America's culture is worthless.
