"Homeowner held by police for not smiling"

From The Daily Mail:

A father with Parkinson’s disease was arrested as he watched the Olympic cycling road race because he ‘failed to smile or look like he was enjoying himself’. Mark Worsfold, a martial arts trainer and former soldier, claims that he was thrown to the floor and handcuffed just as cyclists passed by...

Mr Worsfold, who lives in an £800,000 three-bedroom house in the picturesque village of Ockham near Woking, has since asked for a letter of exoneration from police.

Pity he wasn't wearing a gelignite waistcoat - they'd have left him alone for fear of "profiling" accusations.

IH, good point.

AKH, hahaha that John Yates, thug in chief for Bahrain, has got a brilliant sense of humour.

Reminds me of a "Not the 9 O'Clock News" sketch. "You arrested him for being in possession of a loud jacket and thick, rubbery lips?"

JB, I thought it was for "loitering with intent to cross a pedestrian crossing".
