Mildly interesting historical coincidence

Krushchev was on holiday at a Black Sea resort while Breshnev mounted his coup d'état in 1964.

Gorbachev was on holiday at a Black Sea resort when the hardliners mounted their coup d'état in 1991.

Another rule of thumb for unpopular leaders is :don't go on holiday;don't go abroad.Back in the capital they'll be plotting. The theory of having courts I believe was so the monarch could keep tabs on everybody.
