Well spotted Mark.
In re the car industry you should have heard Richard Parry-Jones (a motor indutry lobbyist) on Today yesterday banging on about how it was important to keep these subsidies coming as they were 'necessary' for 'investment' in 'green technology' and all the other bollocks.

L, let's just cut VAT and Employer's NIC. That'll help the car industry more than anything.
