I just received an email from a recruitment agency proudly announcing that "ECHM Taxation [has changed its name to] Morgan McKinley Taxation"
Hopefully it's not just me and DBC Reed who'll find this name somewhat incongruous.
Whatever next? A flash PR company called McDaniel Bates Ellas Otha? A posh firm of City laywers called Burnett Arthur Chester?

That one went over my head.
I am more alarmed by the likes of that strange boy Professor Cox (he is actually 42) who presents the TV programme on the Solar System with every appearance of understanding it, and whose "rockstar good looks" are explained by his having been the keyboardist for D:Ream ,or however its spelt ,which recorded "Things can only get better!" He works on that Swiss Collider thing and is by trade a particle physicist! I ask you!
Brian May of Queen has completed his Ph.D on Interplanetary Dust (I kid you not) and is carrying on his 25 year old research into some pioneer of stereo photography.
This is n't rock and roll!So much for this art-form's subversive potential only really alive when Elvis bought his own railroad tickets and Muddy Waters was a general gofer for Leonard Chess.
We still have n't got LVT and have to listen to music played by physicists !
DBC, I take your point on Coxy, but Brian May's thesis was on "Radial Velocities in the Zodiacal Dustcloud". That sounds pretty rock'n'roll to me, as if he's going to set it to music and bring out a 3-CD 'concept album'.
I have to confess to deeply conservative bigotry about rock and roll and can only really respond to music first recorded on 78.So my ideal album ( unlike the Brian May concept farrago) is a literal album: a collection of 10 inch sleeves bound together on one edge to form a booklet, containing 4 discs.I have vague hopes of one day obtaining a Harry"The Hipster"Gibson album of this type, containing the lost masterpiece "Who put the Benzedrine in Mrs Murphy's Ovaltine?"As should be obvious I can only relate to artists whose lives are a bit of a mess not frightening astro-physicists.I would not believe a trained astronomer singing about Bald head Lena or Long Tall Sally or Bony Moronie or even Skinny Minnie or the underrated Lean Jean.
