In reply to Ross...

Ross asked:

So does anyone know who the NREC are? They appear to be registered as a company rather than a charity* and were formerly the Northamptonshire Racial Equality Council**... I cannot find any reference to them on the Charity Commission website. However they have a bunch of local councillors on their committee and a name that implies Quangodom or Fake-Charityness.

Basically I want to know whether they are receiving public money, because their behaviour is not something I wish to subsidise. So if anyone knows how to go about finding out then please leave a comment.

Here's an extract from their 2009 accounts showing their sources of income (click to enlarge):
* A lot of charities are companies as well, so their accounts would be filed at Companies House and at the Charities Commission.

** The company has since changed its name to Northamptonshire Rights and Equality Council.

mkay, who or what are "Countryside Hate Incident Funding"? is there a publically funded hick farmer out there waving a pitchfork at random gays?

TH, you can google it, it's money paid out by Northamptonshire County Council to the NR&EC to ensure a reasonable level of violence against minorities across the whole county (not countRy).

aye I got a few more hits when I knocked the r off. I wonder how they get performance managed, would they get a bonus for every ASBO awarded within the area?

It's terrifyingly plausible that there might actually be Countywide Hate Outreach Development Officers out there, on 28k (plus ASBO bonus).

The Violent Extremism Project sounds as though, potentially, there's some fun to be had. I wonder where one signs up?

TH, they get a bonus for every gay couple that's been attacked by a farmer with a pitchfork.

FT, yup, if TH's farmer scores a certain number of gay couples, he's fast-tracked the VEP and gets let loose on a council estate with some Molotov cocktails.

Thanks for this, I hadn't realised what a hotbed of HATE Northamptonshire was until I saw all these bodies.

R: "I hadn't realised what a hotbed of HATE Northamptonshire was until I saw all these bodies..."

Yup. The streets are littered with the bodies of hatecrime victims.
