Who says the Tories won't be as bad as the other lot?

For the benefit of everybody who has watched Benefit Busters and realised that it is a huge great scam to make it look as if something is being done about unemployment while achieving nothing whatsoever and lining the pockets of whomever it is who owns and runs the 'provider', A4E Limited, there's this from the BBC:

Ms May said the [government's] proposals were not radical enough and said the Tories were committed to reassessing all existing incapacity benefits claimants. The Tories want a bigger role for private firms and voluntary organisations to provide advice and support to the long-term unemployed.

As JuliaM said, "... just paying them the dole money would be cheaper. If you want to get people back into work, ensure the jobs are there and then cut down on the money. That'll do the trick."

As JuliaM says, cut down on the money- but don't take it away when you get a job. Benefit withdrawal rates are the cause of worklessness, low paid jobs don't pay. The govt has assured a minimum income depending on family circumstances. How much you are paid (up to average pay) or whether you have a job at all, does not effect you income very much. Google dwp tax and benefit tables an find out how much you really work for, it's less than you think.

JuliaM, no goverment can 'ensure that the jobs are there'. Saying such things just encourages politicians and bureaucrats in this grand delusion.

What these idiots can do is to not bugger up the economic environment that makes job creation possible. Such things as low and certain taxes, massive de-regulation, no burdening business with social agendas (the minimium wage for example) etc etc, and the jobs will come.
