Labour and inherited privilege (4)

I don't particularly like quoting from the Daily Hatemail, but here goes:

Lord Kinnock was appointed as a European Commissioner in 1995, on a salary of £105,584 a year. By the time he stepped down in 2004, he was earning £163,453 in salary, a £24,000-a-year housekeeping allowance and a £7,000 entertainment budget. Mr Kinnock received almost £273,000 when he left the job to help him adjust to life outside the Commission. He can also draw on a £64,000-a-year pension...

Mrs Kinnock, 64, and her husband have earned a reputation as serial junketeers after jumping on the EU gravy train in the 1990s. During her 15 years as Labour's MEP for South Wales East, Mrs Kinnock's salary had risen from £31,686 to £63,291, plus substantial expenses. Yet a surprise call from Number 10 means she will make the transition from £63,291-a-year euro MP to £83,275-a-year Europe Minister...

Their son, Stephen Kinnock, headed the St Petersburg office of the publicly funded British Council until October. Its unpaid chairman is Lord Kinnock. The 39-year-old now works as a director of the World Economic Forum.

The Kinnocks’ daughter, 37-year-old Rachel, landed a job on Mr Brown’s political staff two years ago.

I remember Kinnock banging on about Oxbridge being a "cancer" on British education, and then sending young Stephen to Queens', Cambridge.

the gould, benn, morrison, dunwoody, kinnock dynasties. I am sure you can name plenty more. There are so many relations in the commons, it is almost inbred. The problem is only relatives of MPs and councillors bother to join political parties anymore, it is middle class labour and upper class tories

My problem with Kinnock is that he was one of the first professional politians , having held no other job than tutor at a govt funded charity the WEA and that only for 4 years. So it's no surprise he wants his children to follow in the family 'business'

Not to put too fine a point on it and to use (reluctantly) an already over-used term of abuse, Glenys is an accomplice in genocide.

To quote Sandy Gall:

"Shamefully, consecutive British governments (including the present one), the EU, so-called liberal MEPs like Glenys Kinnock, anthropologists (with some honourable exceptions) and (perhaps more understandably given the internal pressure) Botswanan human rights’ organisations have all turned their backs on the [Kalahari] Bushmen."

The establishment has been kind to Kinnock because he killed off radical socialism in the Labour Party ( did n't support the Miners attacked Militant in L'pool)and prepared the way for Blair. He also lost a General Election to Major from a near invincible position .So they thought they'd show their appreciation.

An old mate of mine's new ladyfriend (Welsh) was a mate of Glenys, or knew through some lefty local womens group or other. My mate, a retired businessman, to his undying credit, after couteously sticking around and playing the host on the first occasion could not thereafter stay in the same room when she turned up for a social. He is a forthright sort of bloke and his description to me of her and her ilk is not repeatable on a family blog.

BTW I have know about how the Kinnocks have been feeding of the public tit for years. We, the people, have to figure out a way of dealing with these sorts of people. It really cannot go on.

Related to this, a beautiful 'daily update' from the Mises Institute here:-

The last three paragraphs are excellent on bureaucratism and socialism and explain very well what New Labour has been doing. And clearly sponging shits like the Kinnocks make a fat living from it - sorry a fat living from me and you.
