DBC Reed said...: Not sure his name does rhyme: too many syllables and not enough correspondences.Mind you "Merchant" for "merchant banker"is recognised in slang dictionaries as rhyming slang for " a contemptible person".Looks like London dialect was on to bankers some time ago.; 26 March 2009 at 09:43
