I have long suspected that the Welsh language was invented by bored code-breakers at Bletchley Park who just had far too many Ws and Ys left over*. Possibly during a game of Scrabble. Here is another possible explanation.
* Those letters being relatively uncommon in the German language.

That is good Mark. We spend a few days every now and then in Snowdonia and love spotting the English words adapted to Welsh. Words such as 'tacsi' for 'taxi' and 'dim parcio' which is 'no parking'. Outside supermarkets the trolley parks are 'troli parcios'.
Perhaps it also demonstrates that expensive political correctness is ultimately futile; if the few Welsh speakers (compared with English speakers) paid for their own road signs out of choice you can bet there wouldn't be these Brent-esque errors.
Now, that's Welsh; how about doing away with translations into some other languages and saving the money; Urdu, Gaelic, Gujarati, Punjabi, Hindi, Scottish (have you seen the fecking state of the Scottish Parliament dialect website????? It's a national disgrace), Polish, Bulgarian, Arabic, Somali.....
