Thanks! Yes, I did them. Nick Drew threw down the Patrick Caulfield gauntlet in the comments to Lillies number 2 so I did one of those after work yesterday, and then I just kept going.
Just talked to The Great Wiseone and she thinks your technique is quite good but you need to work on composition. She particularly likes this one, which she said is very intersting and that you have thought about composition.
IMNSHO, Mark, the two really impressive things are
(a) your draughtsmanship (basic, of course but without which it's going nowhere) and
(b) the speed with which you apparently turn them out (unless you already had them up yer sleeve). I have formed the view that real art is mostly executed real fast, the proof of which is the productivity of the Masters (we can exempt Vermeer)
your posting emboldens me to contemplate sticking up some of me own. A while ago I tried some experimental scanning-in of light pencil drawings, with entirely rubbish results, so I must go for black ink
ND, thanks. I'm not surprised that my drawing skills are basic. I picked up a pencil for the first time in twenty years last Tuesday.
Composition is a bit cramped for the simple practical reasons a) I only have an A4 scanner and b) I am shortsighted so I like drawing things close up. But, as the drawings are only small, I can do four an evening if needs be.
I look forward to seeing some pictures that Nick drew! Go for pencils that are at least B4 and they'll scan in just fine.
by 'basic' I didn't mean you, I meant that draughtsmanship is the basic foundation of art
shall try B4 as you suggest (bigger question is where to stick'em, the C@W readership might not be amused ! I always post the doggerel elsewhere - never do it on yer own doorstep, so to speak ...)

Do you do them? They are very good IMHO, althoigh being married to an artist I do get exposed to a lot of art work.

I like this one best as well.

Having seen the comment about 20 years TGW-O is even more impressed. Keep up the good work.
Careful, lads, or I shall start singing at you.
