"All [the children's] ferocity was turned outwards, against the enemies of the State, against foreigners, traitors, saboteurs, thought-criminals. It was almost normal for people to be frightened of their own children. And with good reason, for hardly a week passed by in which The Times did not carry a paragraph describing how some eavesdropping little sneak - 'child hero' was the phrase generally used - had overheard some compromsing remark and denounced its parents to the Thought Police." (George Orwell, 1984).
"Download the ‘Climate Crime’ cards and use them to search your home to make sure that none are happening under your own roof! Then build your ‘Climate Crime Case File’ and report back to your family to make sure they don’t commit those crimes again (or else)! You may need to keep a watchful eye over them by revisiting the case every week or two to make sure they don’t slip back into any of their old habits. You can spread your search even wider by adding even more ‘Case Files’ to your notes. What about the homes of your uncles, aunts or friends from school?" (United Kingdom, 2008)

Was it year zero in Cambodia when the children had power over life and death?
I saw that on the EU-referendum blog. It is quite outrageous. Educating children about actual science would be worthwhile, but this is clearly nothing to do with it.
I don't object to the items picked on in the crime files, in fact if I could get the kids to turn off lights and close doors, it would save me money on my bills. But to make kids think these things are "crimes" is appalling. It is waste prevention, but wasting resources is not a crime. Not yet, anyway!
Also does this demote real crimes, like stealing or stabbing people?
Simple answer to any kids that try this:
"OK, you're right. Saving the planet is vital. I'll phone the travel agent and cancel the holiday to Disneyland and we'll take a holiday in Skegness which will do less damage to the planet".
Alternatively, change your HOSTS file on your PC to redirect the any requests to the Climate Cops site to the Adam Smith Institute.
Good point Tim.
We can also start walking to school...
Holidays in Skegness and walking to school? Excellent! I did both in the 70s and enjoyed them.

A very good point indeed, and one to which the originators of this plan have given very little consideration, I'd bet.
Agreed on Skeggy, I thought it was lovely (maybe the sun shone that week).
Best retort to kids who buy into all the climate change propaganda I've seen (I think it was either JuliaM or Trixy):
Make them power their playstations and bedroom TV's from wind power
just terrifying, welcome to the new manifestation of the hitler jugend.
Yes, I saw this here and on the Libertarian Party blog and some other places as well. The more negative publicity nPower gets over this the better.
