Ah, diddums!
The actor involved has thus sawn off the bottom rung of his future acting career, to wit, playing the back-end of a pantomime horse.
My little lass loves "In The Night Garden", and in future I shall watch it with added glee at the thought of those poor thesp's 'suffering for their art'.

Presumably he felt the pay at the time was adequate compensation for the difficulties of the job and be continuing to work he accepted the risks?
It's easier said than done when it comes to just quitting. Maybe he was advised that he could be sued for breach of contract if he just quit. It happens.
What's really stupid is that he didn't hire a lawyer.
This post caused me to jump on youtube and look at some "night Garden"stuff. Now I can't get the freakin'music out of me head. And it's YOUR fault. Expect to be served soon.
On a serious note, I watched the makapaka characyer lean right down to polish some stones (does he/she/it have a serious cleaning fetish or what?). This took some minutes and couldn't be good for his back. "Bend zer knees" we were told as we grew up.
