It's just that more people are happy to pay a few quid extra a week to shop at Tesco rather than Lidl.Mark Wadsworthhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07733511175178098449noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1141932539860553199.post-91446155232411978642015-06-11T21:37:46.906+01:002015-06-11T21:37:46.906+01:00"supermarkets are 99% the same,"
Yeah, ..."supermarkets are 99% the same,"

Yeah, I thought that, until a traffic jam (filming going on at the castle) meant that I had to do my weekly shop at Tesco instead of Lidl. Finding an old Lidly till receipt in the bottom of my shopping bag I was able to do a price comparison and found that Tesco were about 10% more expensive.Bayardhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15211150959757982948noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1141932539860553199.post-10014638284923337162015-06-09T22:55:26.351+01:002015-06-09T22:55:26.351+01:00Mark,

The variations tend to be at the margins. You might be able to get upmarket chocolates in Waitrose, but will struggle in Asda.

More than anything I use the local Waitrose because it's my nearest store and I prefer medium-sized stores rather than the huge Tesco store. But we've used various places over the years and can't knock any of them. The only shops out of that list that I avoid are the co-op because the one near us is incompetently run, with lots of things always out of stock and poorly trained staff.Tim Almondhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13369256383976094670noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1141932539860553199.post-35574033835156841442015-06-09T20:30:05.902+01:002015-06-09T20:30:05.902+01:00Fair enough. I personally quite like Tesco and all things considered, prefer them to other supermarkets, but I wouldn't consider myself in any way 'loyal' to them. Tesco never really had they own particular quasi-niche.

I mean FFS, this is all hokum, it is Indian Bicycle Marketing and supermarkets are 99% the same, the differences are imagined more than real.Mark Wadsworthhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07733511175178098449noreply@blogger.com
