Australian Xmas song

I'm dreaming of a hot Christmas
Just like the ones I'll always know
Where the trees are burning
And barbies turning
A huge pile of embers all a-glow

I'm dreaming of a hot Christmas
With every Christmas card I write
May your days be sunny and bright
With sun-block to keep skin nice and white.

Do think the bushfires which Australia suffered just under a year ago may have (by keeping the foreign tourists away) saved them from a higher Covid-19 death toll?

GC, now you ask the question, yes, that does seem plausible.

The comment about "sun-block to keep skin nice and white" also made me wonder if burkinis will catch on among (non-Muslim) Australian women who either fear skin cancer or who prefer the pale look.

After all it was an Australia-based designer (Aheda Zanetti) who gave the word "burkini" to the world, even if hers wasn't the first attempt at Sharia-compliant swimwear...

GC, women who wear burkhas don't need to wear face masks. Fact.

The UK version is "I'm dreaming of a wet Christmas..."

B, do the lyrics and post them!

I'm dreaming of a wet Christmas
Just like the ones I used to know
Where the treetops glisten and children listen
To the rain hitting the window.

I'm dreaming of a wet Christmas
With every Christmas card I get.
It's hard to be merry and bright
When all your Christmases are wet.

Given the latest announcements, here's a song for tomorrow:

"I'm queuing in the rain, I'm queuing in the rain,
What a godawful feeling, I'm soaking again,
I'm scowling at clouds, so dark and so chill,
I've rain down my neck and I'm ready to kill....

I did it again this year, it's the 27th and I still haven't heard that damn song. I suppos it's too much to hope that it has gone forever.
